The number of calls a truck can handle per day, the time spent on each call for upselling repairs, and travel time are all crucial factors. These elements also tie into office operations, online scheduling, and advertising, forming the foundation of our company. 

When I first started running my franchise in New Jersey, it was a new and challenging territory. The existing routing and scheduling systems were not optimized, causing inefficiencies and missed opportunities for upselling. I quickly realized that the key to success was not in taking on more work but in working smarter. By adjusting our schedules to allow more time for each job, reducing unnecessary travel, and cutting out less profitable areas, I transformed our operations. 

My relentless focus on fine-tuning these details paid off, and within five years, our franchise became the first to reach one million dollars in annual sales, significantly ahead of others. This hands-on experience taught me the profound impact of strategic route planning and scheduling, and I have applied these lessons to benefit the entire company.
Scheduling Infrastructure
  • Macro-Level Planning: Conceptualize and design seasonal master plans for routing and scheduling, optimizing service and installation schedules for 60+ trucks.
  • ​Micro-Level Details: Develop detailed daily routines for technicians, including travel blocks, time allotted for repairs, and specific work days, ensuring plans are tailored to area and seasonal needs.
  • ​Advise and instruct various departments, including advertising, sales, and customer service teams, on the structure and goals of the schedules and routes I develop.
Comprehensive Growth Plan
  • Develop a master plan for each franchisee, incorporating step-by-step growth strategies tailored to each area.
  • Optimize routes by conducting thorough analysis of sales data, growth trends, and operational efficiency. This includes planning to add more trucks and expanding service areas.
  • Maintain a master blueprint to maximize recurring customers and increase sales, ensuring that each action aligns with long-term goals.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead the scheduling team and collaborate closely with office staff to refine workflows and provide tailored solutions.
  • Engage proactively with franchisees to understand their needs and make strategic decisions that align with their goals.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, actively seeking and integrating feedback into scheduling strategies for continuous improvement.
Customized Strategies
  • Tailor micro strategies for each franchisee, down to the ZIP code level, considering pricing, demand, workload, and technician skillset.
  • ​Analyze and adjust thousands of data points to tailor every customer appointment duration, balancing technician efficiency, sales, and customer service needs. This foundational work ensures that each service call is optimized for profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Adjust strategies based on real-time data and seasonal demands, ensuring optimal performance and profitability.
Continuous IMPROVEMENT
  • Review and amend schedules constantly based on real-time data, franchisee feedback, and sales metrics. 
  • Handle complex changes and problems that occur during busy seasons. Serve as the point person to develop solutions and make the right call amidst the many moving parts.
